~ Mexico is slated to commemorate in 2010, the Bicentennial of Mexican Independence and the Centennial of Mexican Revolution, I'm pleased to announce that I've received an invitation to do a Solo Exhibition in its previous events. The Art Opening will be on May 13th of 2009 at 4:00 p.m. The show is titled "Vida y Color de México" (Life and Color of Mexico). Ministry of Education, in Monterrey, N.L..   May 2009.

~ Rocio Heredia's graphic works had been published in the new book "Los 7 pasos de la danza del comer. Cultura, género e identidades" written by Dr. Marjorie Ross /President of The Costa Rican Women Writers Association / Asociación Costarricense de Escritoras.  University of Costa Rica Publisher - March 2009.

~ The visual artist Rocio Heredia had been featured in "The Best of 2008 La Silla Magazine" Yearly Edition - Article: "I'm a Legend - Soy Leyenda" January 2009.

~  Rocío Heredia's work and biography were published in the textbook ¡De una Vez! written by Francisco Rodríguez, Fabián A. Samaniego y Nelson Rojas. Houghton Mifflin Company, 2008.

~  The two solo exhibitions "Heart of Metal" & "FotoSeptiembre 2008"  of Rocío Heredia had been selected to be included in the collective exhibition "Cultura de Santa Catarina, Claro que se Puede" at El Corredor del Arte / Torre Administrativa, in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León. Mexico-based artist Rocio Heredia was awarded the Fred de Vos Wax Workshop in Venice 2005 Scholarship. During October 15 - 22, 2005 Ms. Heredia traveled to Venice, Italy where she participated in wax model making workshop for jewelry, instructed by Fred de Vos. Il Chiostro, Venice, Italy.

~Dorothy MacKenzie Annual Purchase Award
Rocío Heredia was awarded the 2004 Dorothy MacKenzie Annual Purchase Award from the Bowling Green State University Foundation, Inc. for her repoussé work "King David". The purpose of the award is to annually purchase a piece of outstanding work in jewelry and metalsmithing from someone who has been affiliated with the BGSU. The works purchased become part of their permanent collection.
